This club is exclusive to The Needlepointer, a shop in Everett, Washington. 


Shiny Brite #11 - Should have been November, but I stitched it in December

Stitches used are - Oblong Cross, Rhodes Variation, Tent, T-Stitch, Horizontal Cashmere, Diagonal Scortch, and Nobuko.

This took about four hours to stitch while watching Food Network's Pie Competition, and sitting in traffic downtown, or watching Victoria at swimming class.  The blue thread is new this month. 

 

Shiny Brite #12 - December 2006 - ALL DONE!

Stitches used are Oblong Cross, Diagonal Satin, Woven Stitch, Cashmere, Rhodes, Nobuko, and Tent.

I stitched this while watching The Breakup and Iron Chef America.  This was my favorite out of all the ornaments - so lovely! 

Shiny Brite #9 - September 2006

This took about three hours to stitch on September 24th, 2006, while watching Seahawks football and The Inside Man

Stitches used include: Oblong Cross, Parisian, Reversed Scotch, Continental, Milanese, Tent, and Long Stitch. 

Shiny Brite #10 - October 2006

This took about four hours to stitch in late October 2006, while watching Victoria at swimming class and Just My Luck.

Love those Scotch Stitches!  New thread this month - Rainbow Gallery Sparkle Rays in Purple.

 

 

Shiny Brite #7 - July 2006

This took about four hours to stitch in July 2006.

Shiny Brite #8 - August 2006

This took about four hours to stitch on August 27th and 28th, 2006, while watching Nanny McPhee and The Greatest Game Ever Played (which, according to the movie, is Golf.)

Stitches used include: Oblong Cross, Byzantine 2, Padded Brick, Smyrna Cross, Woven, and Slanted Gobelin.

I added a new thread to the group this month - silver #8 Kreinik Braid in 3231. 

 

 

Shiny Brite #5 - May 2006

This took about four hours to stitch on May 8th and 10th, 2006, while watching the Amazing Race, American Idol, and the movie The Weatherman.

Threads used are:

DMC #5 Pearl Cotton White for basketweave background; Rainbow Gallery Petite Frosty Rays 072 Red for central Serendipity Stitch (and how serendipitious that I had *just* enough thread!), Rainbow Gallery Soft Sheen Fyre Werks for the blue bottom, Neon Rays 002 White for white bands and stars (elongated cross-stitches layered horizontally and vertically), Kreinik #4 braid 105C for Upright Cross-Stitch on ornament top and center layered star, blend of two strands each Kreinik #4 braid 024 and Crescent Colors Hand-Dyed Floss in Prickly Pear for pink top section.

Shiny Brite #6 - June 2006

This took about five hours to stitch on June 11th, 12th and 15th, 2006, while watching the Deadwood, Entourage, Aeon Flux, and Partner(s).

 

 

 

Shiny Brite #3 - March 2006

This took about three hours to stitch on March 4th & 5th, 2006, while watching the The Cave and A&E's Flip That House

Threads used are:

DMC #5 Pearl Cotton White for basketweave background; Rainbow Gallery Neon Rays 002 White for white bands (Scotch stitch and Tent stitch) and cross-stitched stripe; Kreinik #4 braid 105C for Upright Cross-Stitch on ornament top and grey background (Nobuko stitch); Rainbow Gallery Petite Frosty Rays 072 Red for top of ornament (Milanese stitch) and stripe (wrapped backstitch), Rainbow Gallery Treasure Braid T277 Teal for stripe (wrapped backstitch).

 

Shiny Brite #4 - April 2006

This took about four and a half hours to stitch on April 19th and 20th, 2006, while watching the GhostBusters and Amazing Race, American Idol, and Noggin's Little Bear.

Threads used are:

DMC #5 Pearl Cotton White for basketweave background; Rainbow Gallery Petite Frosty Rays 072 Red for center band, Rainbow Gallery Soft Sheen Fyre Werks for the blue bands (brick stitches and basketweave), Rainbow Gallery tubular nylon in yellow for the satin stitch band, and Fyre Werks Green for the green band.

And here is Travis hanging out while I photograph the ornament.  :)  Such a love at three months old!

 

 

Shiny Brite #1 - January 2006

This took about four hours to stitch on Jan. 14th, 2006, while watching the Seahawks playoff game (#1). 

Threads used are:

DMC #5 Pearl Cotton White for basketweave background; Rainbow Gallery Neon Rays 002 White for white bands and dots; Kreinik #12 Braid (2 strands) 5982 for Byzantine stitched green band; Rainbow Gallery Petite Frosty Rays 072 Red for Diagonal Cashmere bottom; Kreinik #4 braid (2 strands) 105C for center Rhodes and Upright Cross-Stitch on ornament top; blend of two strands each Kreinik #4 braid 024 and Crescent Colors Hand-Dyed Floss in Prickly Pear for Knitting Stitch at top pink section.

 

Shiny Brite #2 - February 2006

This took about four hours to stitch on Feb. 11th and 12th, 2006, while watching the The Great Raid and part of The Human Stain

Threads used are:

DMC #5 Pearl Cotton White for basketweave background; Rainbow Gallery Neon Rays 002 White for white bands (Mosaic); Kreinik #4 braid 105C for Upright Cross-Stitch on ornament top and grey bands (Reverse Mosaic); blend of two strands each Kreinik #4 braid 024 and Crescent Colors Hand-Dyed Floss in Prickly Pear for pink Cashmere Variation; Rainbow Gallery Treasure Braid T277 Teal for top Woven Stitch.

 

This monthly club started January 2006.  Each hand-painted canvas comes with a stitch guide.  At the end of the year (December 2006) I'll receive a box of the matching glass ornaments.  Above you can see the painted canvases with their matching ornament.
