Shepherd's Bush

"Be True"

This little kit from Shepherd's Bush is stitched on hand-dyed linen from Lakeside Linens using silk floss.  The rose button is hand made by Just Another Button Company and the mat is hand painted by Jill Rensel.

I stitched this in May 2010.

"Skelton School Sampler"

This is a kit design from Shepherd's Bush.  The linen is 32-count Belfast in cream from Zweigart.  Threads are all Au Ver a Soi silk, pulled thread work is done with pearl cotton.  I started this in September 2005, stitched one evening on it, then put it away.  I got it back out in December 2005 and finished it in about five days.  I did make some small changes to the design: I removed the heart line from the very top and bottom, and replaced the hearts between the wreaths with my initials SLHT and 2005.

The verse on this sampler says "spirit strands in sampler caught, souls sorrow worked - hearts laughter wrought."  The lettering is done over one thread with one strand of silk.  The lace below the fan stitch is whipstitched to the linen with pearl cotton, and then accented with seed beads on the bottom edge.

This was a fun design to stitch and I enjoyed it.

"A Merry Season"
This design took me about ten hours to stitch, in October 2003. It is stitched on 10-count cream Tula, using hand-dyed #5 pearl cotton from Weeks Dye Works. The buttons are all from Just Another Button Company.

Another design I stitched for my mother-in-law. Stitched with DMC cotton floss and pearl cotton on 32-count Belfast Linen. This took a couple of days in September 2003.

"French Openwork Sampler"

This took about a week to stitch sometime in 2001.   It's a kit design, and is stitched using silk threads on cream Belfast linen.

"Twined Heart"
I stitched this design for my mother-in-law, Diane Truswell, in 2000. It's a kit design, and is stitched using silk threads on cream Belfast linen. I think it took about three weeks to stitch.
