The Cricket Collection

"Pumpkin Bear"

This design is from the "Trick-or-Treat" book, #112.  It is stitched in DMC floss on 32-count Belfast linen from Zweigart in Tobacco.  I finished it as a treat back using black silk dupioni for the outside of the bag, and a cotton print for the bag lining.  The drawstring cording is made from DMC floss.  Stitched and finished in October 2006.

"The Christmas Story"

This design is stitched on 32-count Ice Blue Belfast Linen from Zweigart with DMC floss and Kreinik Metallic.  The buttons are from Just Another Button Company.  This was started on January 14th, 2005 and finished on December 24th, 2005.  It took exactly ten weeks to stitch spread out over the year.  You can see more pictures and notes on the Christmas Story Work-In-Progress page.  I finally did the actual finishing into a bellpull in December 2007.

"The Social Call"
This design is big! He's stitched on the recommended 10-count hand-dyed Tula fabric from R&R Reproductions. It's a light blue color. He is stitched using a wide variety of fibers, including Thread Gatherer, Rainbow Gallery, Kreinik, DMC, Sampler Threads, and Silk Ribbon. A lot of fun to stitch, and he took me about ten days. I stitched him while in Kelowna in August 2003.

"Nutcracker Mitten"
This mitten is from "The Social Call" leaflet. It stitched it on 32-count blue belfast linen over two threads. I used leftover threads from "The Social Call", including Rainbow Galler Fibers and threads from The Thread Gatherer. I also used DMC floss. This is for Lisa Boyd for our Christmas Ornament Exchange. Stitched in Fall 2003. The edging is a delicate green and gold twisted cording. It doesn't show up very well in the photograph, but it's there. :)

"A Walk Through the Woods"
This design is stitched on 40-count silk gauze over one with cotton floss. It is matted with a olive suede mat. This took about a month to stitch. I absolutely love this design - Vicki Hastings is one of my favorite designers.
